Reeves third in R.O.M. shakedown

Brendo and Rhianon have finished an impressive third fastest in this morning's shakedown for the NGK Rally of Melbourne.

Driving their Les Walkden Rallying Subaru, Reeves and Smythe were the first non-Toyota in the field, and easily quicker than Ford's Darren Windus and the Subaru of Glen Raymond.

Championship leader Simon Evans was fastest, with his team-mate, Neal Bates, just 0.1 of a second faster than Reeves.

The rally starts tomorrow morning (November 10).

Brendo ready for Rally of Melbourne attack

Brendan Reeves is all set for this weekend’s final round of the NEC Australian Rally Championship, NGK Rally of Melbourne, which kicks off at Melbourne’s New Quay tonight.

After competing in last weekend’s Mt Buller Sprint, in which he finished sixth, Brendo and co-driving sister, Rhianon Smyth, have had a busy week of testing and recce to make sure they are in perfect condition for their ‘home’ gravel event.

Currently sitting in fourth place in the Championship, a good result could see the duo jump to third place overall, in what would be a great result in their rookie season.

Having competed in Rally of Melbourne last year, Brendo is familiar with the roads and will know what to expect this weekend.  A top five result would be just reward for a great rookie season for the 19 year old.

Brendo happy with sixth at Mt Buller

A challenging, but enjoyable weekend, saw Brendo and Rhianon finish sixth outright in this year’s Mt. Buller Sprint, held over three days.  With only one stage contested on each of the first two days due to inclement weather, all four stages were run on the final day.

Starting off with soft tyres on the final day, Brendo suffered a little from lack of grip, however with a change of rubber to ‘mediums’ at the lunch break, the Subaru RS Impreza was soon breaking the nine minute barrier on the 16.1km stage.

Reeves sets hot pace on dramatic day

Young Subaru star Brendan Reeves has finished the first day of the Mt Buller Sprint in ninth place after a steady start on a rain-ravaged day that saw nine cars fail to finish.

Driving his Les Walkden Rallying Subaru Impreza WRX Sti, Reeves and co-driving sister, Rhianon, took a conservative approach to the first stage and will increase their pace over the remaining two days of the tarmac rally.

Brendo prepares for Mt. Buller Sprint

{mosimage} Brendan Reeves is preparing for a busy couple of weeks of rallying.  His next event will be the tarmac Mt. Buller Sprint, to be held from November 3 - 5, in which he will drive his new Subaru Impreza WRX STi.

The three day event has attracted 99 entries, and involves a total of ten stages, each a 16.1km run on the awesome Mt. Buller Tourist Road between Mirimbah and Mt. Buller.

It will be Brendo's first outing at Mt. Buller and follows his successful 2nd outright at Rallye Burnie in September.
