Fantastic result for Brendo in Tasmania

Heat 2 of the Tasmanian Tarmac Challenge has been another successful day for Brendo, finishing the day in eighth place overall and easily taking out the Showroom category title. Competing in a factory-prepared Mazda3 MPS against a host of powerful Mitsubishi Evos, Subaru Impreza WRXs, Nissan Skyline GTRs and Porsches, Brendo's drive in the Mazda was impressive.

Despite suffering with an ECU problem earlier in the day and then running out of brakes on the day's final stage, Brendo brought the car home in fine style.  Again having to cope with both wet and dry road conditions, getting enough heat in the tyres to increase their grip was a major consideration, and thankfully, as the day dried out, the grip improved.

"I ran out of brakes on the last stage, and with the dry conditions this afternoon, I was able to get a lot more heat into the tyres, so the grip levels increased dramatically." Brendo said. "It was something that all the 2WD cars had to deal with."

"I just love these roads and because Rhianon and I competed here last year, our notes worked really well."

"The car handled really well all weekend, and on my first factory drive, I’m very happy to be able to bring the Mazda home in one piece, without even a scratch on it," he added.
