Cold and wet conditions forecast for Marysville Stages

Cold and wet conditions await Brendan Reeves at this weekend’s Marysville Stages rally.

To be held on Saturday, May 15, the event is round 3 of the Victorian Rally Championship (VRC) and has attracted a quality field of 48 cars.

Experienced co-driver Kate Catford will once again call the pace notes for Reeves, after missing the last round due to prior commitments.

The event will comprise 130 kilometres of competitive driving over seven stages in the Marysville area.  Reeves is really looking forward to driving the stages which traditionally are held on fast, flowing forest roads.

Reeves and his team have made a few changes to his Datsun 1600 ahead of this event.  Adjustments have been made to the brake bias to achieve a better balance between the front and rear brakes and this should be a benefit with this weekend’s forecast wet conditions.

The Marysville Stages marks the halfway point of the season so Reeves is looking for a good result and to add more valuable championship points to his season tally.  He currently sits fourth in the state championship.

The VRC then takes a break over winter and during the layoff, Reeves will focus on preparing the car for the second half of the season.

The event will start from Gallipoli Park in Marysville at 9.30am on Saturday, May 15 with all stages to be completed in daylight.
