Brendan Reeves will be behind the wheel of a different beast in September when he contests the Western Victorian Crane Truck Yarra Valley Stages Rally in a V8 Commodore.

Reeves, who in recent years has rallied front wheel drive and all-wheel drive cars, has been given the opportunity to drive the Truline Commercial V8 Commodore by the car’s owner, Craig Jarvie.

“I’ve done lots of set up in the car with Craig in the last six months and it’s great fun to drive,” Reeves said.  “As Craig is one of the organisers of the Yarra Valley event, he offered the car to me to drive and I jumped at the chance.”

The Western Victorian Crane Truck Yarra Valley Stages Rally will be held on Sunday, 16 September on roads traditionally used in the Rally of Melbourne.

Reeves believesRally of Melbourne was the best event in the country and to be able to compete on some of the same roads – including Blowhard, Marginal Road, and Mt. Slide - is a unique opportunity.

Based at the Yarra Glen Racecourse, just an hour from central Melbourne, the one-day pace noted event will include 135 kilometres of competitive stages.  The event is round 5 of the Victorian Rally Championship and round 3 of the Victorian Club Rally Championship.

“I’m stoked to be able to compete in the VRC and invite all competitors to come out and play on these very cool roads,” Reeves said.  “We will have some great fun and fierce competition.”
