Rain won't dampen Brendan's Rally SA chances

After two solid days of reconnaissance, Brendan Reeves and Rhianon Gelsomino are ready to tackle this weekend’s Lightforce Rally SA, round 4 of the Kumho Tyre Australian Rally Championship (ARC).
Heavy rain in the past couple of days led to the cancellation of today’s Shakedown stage and has caused some re-routing of the rally course, and Reeves believes that will only make competition fiercer this weekend.
Rally organisers were forced to cancel four of the proposed stages and will run some stages more than once in order to make up lost distance. The revised route comprises 193 competitive kilometres, around 30 of which will be run on Saturday night over two stages.
“It’s a shame we weren’t able to do our Shakedown today,” Reeves said, “but everyone else is in the same boat so it’s not really a disadvantage.
“We are starting second car on the road tomorrow which will hopefully work in our favour. With just Simon (Evans) ahead of us, the roads should still be in reasonable condition for our pass.
“As always, the battle for the win will be fierce but with slippery road conditions the winner may be decided by smarter driving rather than outright speed.”
Lightforce Rally SA starts from the Mount Pleasant Showgrounds tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 9am.
