Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy Shootout awaits Brendan

After a successful return to the World Rally Championship (WRC) at Rally Spain in October, Brendan Reeves will head to the UK later this month to participate in the Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy (DDFT) Shootout.

Brendan contested the DDFT class at Rally Spain in a Ford Fiesta R2, finishing an impressive second outright despite not having driven at WRC level for three years. The result saw Brendan awarded a wildcard entry to the Shootout where he and nine other drivers will compete for a fully funded drive in a Ford Fiesta R5 at one World Rally Championship round in 2016.

The Shootout will be held at M-Sport in Cumbria, England on December 16 and 17 and will entail workshop-based tests (both fitness and psychological), a media interview and a short test drive in a Ford Fiesta R2 at the nearby Kirkbride Airfield.  After the assessments, drivers will face a five minute interview with M-Sport boss, Malcolm Wilson, and Dick Cormack, owner of DMACK Tyres.

Brendan has plenty of experience with these kind of assessments having completed similar tests when he was part of the FIA’s WRC Academy in 2012, but he knows the competition for the title of Shootout winner will be fierce.

“The aim of competing in WRC Spain was to qualify for the DMACK shootout so I'm very excited to head to M-Sport to compete for this awesome prize,” Brendan said.

“It's going to be a cold shock to my system and I can expect anything as extreme as snow on the day.”

Based on his past performances, that won’t deter Brendan who is looking forward to the challenge that awaits.
