Brendan Reeves has continued his perfect run in America, finishing his sixth rally - and his first this year - with a class win. The win, at the New England Forest Rally in Maine, means Reeves has six class wins from six starts in the American National championship after a five-event campaign in 2013.
This weekend, Reeves and co-driver Anthony McLoughlin, debuted the M-Sport Ford Fiesta R2 in America. Despite a brand new car, a new co-driver, and a strong field of competitors, Reeves finished with a comfortable class win, over ten minutes ahead of his nearest rival.
After dust caused issues for some competitors on day one of the rally, overnight rain on Friday made Saturday’s morning stages very slippery.
Reeves went into Day 2 of the rally in seventh place overall and by mid-way through Saturday’s ten stages he had increased his position to sixth. The top five places in the event were filled by the much more powerful “Open” and “Super Production” class cars making Reeves’ result even more impressive.
“We had a great day today with a clean run in the M-Sport Fiesta R2 1000cc,” Reeves said.
“The three repeat stages were so much fun after the overnight rain on the stages.
“Thanks to Anthony for being on point with the notes, and to all the team for a great event.”
