Reeves takes a hit in ARC Power Stage

PDFPrintE-mail

Brendan Reeves and Rhianon Gelsomino have been forced to miss the Power Stage for the Rally of Queensland after sliding off the road during the qualifying session on Friday morning.

“On our first run of the Power Stage, during qualifying, we slid wide on a really slippery corner and hit a tree front on,” Reeves explained.

“The stage was dry and grippy in reconnaissance, but overnight rain had made it really slippery.

“It has put us out of the Power Stage and the chance for five extra championship points, but we’re already working on the car to have it ready for the start tomorrow morning.”

Although the team are unsure of the extent of the damage to the Mazda2, Reeves is confident that it will be fixed in time, allowing him to push for his third Australian Rally Championship win in succession.

Reeves and Gelsomino will walk over the start line in Caloundra tonight, as the rules allow.
