Brendan Reeves has sent out a message to his rivals that he means business in this year's Australian Rally Championship (ARC) with a win on today's National Capital Rally Power Stage in his RallySchool.com.au Mazda2.

After competitors completed one qualifying run this morning, the five fastest crews plus one wild card entry ran the stage again with the honours of Power Stage winner up for grabs. Reeves improved his qualifying time by four seconds to beat reigning ARC Champion Eli Evans by one tenth of a second.

As a result of their Power Stage win, Reeves and co-driver Rhianon Gelsomino, have earned themselves $500 and a bonus point towards their ARC points tally for the weekend.

The National Capital Rally, round one of the 2014 ARC, kicks off properly tomorrow (Saturday) when crews will contest eight forest stages around Canberra, followed by a further seven stages on Sunday.
