Revised route for Lake Superior Performance Rally

A revised route awaits Brendan Reeves and Rhianon Gelsomino and crews contesting this week's Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR) with rally organisers forced to make changes due to the current US Government shut-down.

The rally will now consist of six different stages, each run multiple times, and will cover a total competitive distance of 93.12 miles.

The Australian pair, who will once again drive a Ford Fiesta R2 for Team O'Neil, will recce five of the event's stages on Thursday (US time). The sixth stage is to run in an operational quarry so crews won't have the opportunity to do a Reconnaissance run of it prior to the event.

After six rounds of the Rally America Series, the LSPR is the final event of the season. Brendan and Rhianon missed the first two events but have won the 2WD class in each of the four rallies they have contested. They currently sit just three points behind series leader Andrew Comrie-Pickard in the championship points score and have a good chance of clinching the title this weekend. In order to win the championship Brendan either needs to win the event, or should he finish second, he needs Comrie-Picard to finish third or lower.

The Lake Superior Performance Rally starts at 1.15pm Friday (Michigan time) and finishes around 8pm on Saturday.
