Victorian driver, Brendan Reeves, is well positioned after the opening two Super Special Stages of the Scouts Rally South Australia, round 3 of the 2013 ECB Australian Rally Championship (ARC).

Driving a Mazda2, Brendan set the third fastest time on both runs of tonight's 1.14 kilometre stage at Gawler and sits just 2.6 seconds behind rally leader Eli Evans in a Honda Jazz.

The rally proper gets underway on Saturday morning with crews contesting nine stages, followed by a further seven stages on Sunday, totalling almost 220 kilometres.

"Tonight was only two short stages in the town of Gawler," Brendan said. "The car performed really well and I can't wait to get out into the forests tomorrow and experience the fast roads of South Australia."

Brendan and his co-driving sister, Rhianon Smyth, currently sit sixth in the ARC standings and are looking to add to their points tally this weekend.
