Australian brother-sister rally team, Brendan Reeves and Rhianon Smyth, have had a fantastic start to the Oregon Trail Rally, round 3 of the Rally America Series, in Portland. The pair have an 18.6 second lead in the 2WD class after Day 1's opening four stages. They are also placed 8th outright.

Driving a Ford Fiesta R2 for Team O'Neil, Reeves and Smyth quickly felt comfortable in the car and have got their rally off to a perfect start. The opening day's action consisted of four Super Special Stages held on the access roads of the Portland International Raceway, with a total distance of 9.20 miles (14.72 kilometres) on a mixed gravel and tarmac surface.

Saturday and Sunday's rally action will be held on forest stages around Portland, with 13 stages covering a distance of around 105 miles (168 kilometres) remaining.
