Third for Brendo at Rally of Lithgow

In beautiful weather conditions, Brendo and Rhianon took to the forests around Lithgow on May 3, for the Rally of Lithgow, coming away with a podium position.

Despite never having driven on the roads before, and being the pair's first pace noted event together since last year's Rally of Melbourne, Brendo was more than happy with their third outright placing.


The rally consisted of recce on Saturday morning and then four stages, each run twice.  Two stages were run in daylight and two at night, giving crews a nice mix of day and night rallying.

{mosimage}Brendo and Rhianon contested the event in their Subaru Impreza RS and the car ran faultessly.  "We struggled with power a little on the uphill sections and the fast straights, but the car ran perfectly all day," Brendo commented. "Our service crew have done a great job preparing the car."

After a pace noting school with Ed Ordynski a few months ago, Brendo and Rhianon are now more confident and have refined their note system which Brendo believes helped them in Lithgow.

The next event for the pair will be the Robertstown Rally in South Australia on May 31.
