Brendan maintains fourth place after Day 3 of Targa Tasmania

Day 3 of Targa Tasmania has seen Brendan and Rhianon maintain their 4th outright place after 137 kilometres of competitive stages. The day produced a mix of wet and dry roads and Brendan set some good stage times in the Mazda Motorsport RX8 SP, including second fastest on the 'Oldina' stage.

The 2WD RX8 SP again performed faultlessly, and whilst he is still learning the car and adapting to the changing road conditions, Brendan said he felt very comfortable in the car.

"We lost a bit of time in the wet stages today but we made it for it on the dry ones," he said. "The pace really picked up today but we have maintained our overall position and are the leading 2WD, so I'm really happy with where we are at at the half way point of the event."

Tomorrow (Saturday) is the longest day of the rally with eight stages covering 165 kilometres of competitive driving. The stages head north from Strahan (the overnight base) towards Devonport, and finish later in the day back in Strahan.

"Tomorrow will be another big challenge," Brendan added, "but we are happy with our pace notes and with the car, and will give it our best shot again. We are just at the half way mark of the rally, so there is still a very long way to go."
