Brendan Reeves, Ford Fiesta R2Brendan and Rhianon spent the weekend getting in some additional practice ahead of the next round of the WRC Academy, Rally Germany. The pair leased a Ford Fiesta R2, similar to their Academy-mount, for the Les Boucles Chevrotine tarmac rally in Belgium.

In a field of 130 cars, the Aussie duo finished an impressive fifth outright and first in class, gaining valuable experience along the way.

The rally consisted of 12 stages covering 124 kilometres of competitive driving. Four different stages were each repeated three times giving Brendan the opportunity to compare his times throughout the stages and look at the improvements. On average, his times improved by one second per kilometre over the course of the day.

"This event was excellent practice for Rally Germany," Brendan said. "The roads are narrow, bumpy and fast and there were lots of opportunities to cut corners."

"We worked a lot on setup for the whole rally and became more comfortable every stage. It was a great way to get some experience driving the Fiesta R2 on tarmac instead of gravel."
