Brendan Reeves, Targa Tasmania, Mazda MotorsportDay 4 of Targa Tasmania has been another successful one for the Mazda Motorsport duo of Brendan and Rhianon. After 158 competitive kilometres they have extended their lead in the Showroom class to over nine minutes. They are also sitting in sixth outright - an incredible feat against the more powerful 4WD cars in the modern category.

With dry roads on today's morning stages, Brendan was able to steadily increase his lead but the afternoon's stages on Tasmania's west coast were very wet and this gave him the opportunity to really pull away from the other Showroom competitors, as well as working his way into the top ten overall.

"This morning was dry and the car was working well, but we broke a sway bar link just before lunch in Rhiana," Brendan said. "The boys were able to fix that during the lunch break."

"This afternoon has been really wet through Hellyer Gorge and Roseberry. The car has been working really well for us and we’ve pulled a lot of time on Broadbent, and we’re now up in the top 10 outright, so I'm really pleased with the day."

Targa Tasmania finishes in Hobart tomorrow afternoon after another six stages including the rally's longest stage, Mt Arrowsmith at 58.55 kilometres, and Brendan and Rhianon have their eyes firmly on the top of the podium in the Showroom class.
