Brendan Reeves, Targa Tasmania, Mazda MotorsportIt's been another excellent day for Brendan and Rhianon at Targa Tasmania with the pair increasing their lead in the Showroom class to over five minutes.

Day 3 of the gruelling five-day event looped out of Launceston to the north west, with eight stages being contested. Brendan gradually increased his lead over the day and returned to Launceston with a lead of 5 minutes and 6 seconds in his class and sitting in 15th position outright.  Once again the Mazda3 MPS ran perfectly and Brendan was rapt with the day's efforts.

“We set some top 10 times today without pushing too hard so that was really good to see," Brendan said.

“On the 'point and squirt' stages the top cars are taking two seconds a kilometre out of us, but when it’s longer and more of an endurance stage, they’re only taking half a second a kay out of us. That’s a good sign for us leading into tomorrow, which is a real endurance day,” he added.

Day 4 of Targa Tasmania will see competitors leave Launceston and head west to Strachan where they will spend the night after another eight stages, three of which are over 30 kilometres in length.
