Strong start for Mazda at Targa Wrest Point

The Mazda3 MPS of Brendan Reeves and Simon Vandenberg set a scorching pace on Day One of Targa Wrest Point, winning every one of Saturday’s stages to take a commanding 2 minute and 48 seconds lead at the head of the Showroom class.

It was clear from the outset that Reeves’ Mazda3 MPS was the car to beat as it won the Tahune 1 stage by a massive 49 seconds.

 

“Every time I get behind the wheel of the MPS, it never fails to impress and today was more of the same. Simon and I are looking forward to tomorrow and getting to the finishing line,” said a pleased Reeves.

Targa Wrest Point concludes this afternoon in Hobart after a further seven competitive stages.
