Dominant performance at Rally New Caledonia

Brendo and Rhianon have put in a dominating performance on Leg 2 of Rally New Caledonia today, and lead the rally outright by over two minutes.

Starting the day in second place, just three seconds adrift of the lead, Brendo jumped out of the blocks on the very first stage of the day, blitzing his opposition and winning the stage by a massive 40 seconds.  He then added another ten second gap on the following stage and continued to increase his lead as the day wore on.  Of the day’s nine stages, Brendo was fastest in all but two.

With maximum points in the Pacific Cup series their main aim for the weekend, Brendo and Rhianon are well-placed ahead of tomorrow’s six remaining stages.  Outright victory in the Asia Pacific Rally Championship event would be icing on the cake for the pair who have put so much effort into their rally program this year.

The Reeves Racing Subaru Impreza STI ran faultlessly today and with their pace notes working perfectly, Brendo and Rhianon are looking forward to another solid performance tomorrow.  A podium finish would be the perfect end to their Pacific Cup campaign – and a great way for Brendo to celebrate his 22nd birthday.

"Today was tough but I learnt a lot and had a really clean run," Brendo said. "We started off today as planned and built a strong lead to then slowly increase it over the whole day. The service crew did a top job all day working on the car in the dusty red gravel."

"I'm looking forward to tomorrow's six stages and hope the forecast rain stays away."
