Today's weather conditions were much improved on yesterday's, with dry conditions for the majority of the day. Brendo took a cautious start this morning, based on yesterday's wet weather, but with the promise of clear skies and more grip from his 2WD Mazda3 MPS, he pushed harder after lunch and his speed increased dramatically. "In hindsight, I probably took it a bit too easy this morning," Brendo said, "but once we decided to start to push a bit harder, I soon got in the groove and we set some really good times this afternoon." Brendo admitted to hitting 230 kph at one stage, and he and Rhianon were rewarded with a fastest stage time (Showroom class) on the second last stage of the day. Tomorrow, the Targa Tasmania route takes competitors from Launceston through Deloraine to Devonport, then back to Launceston. Keep up to date with Brendo and Rhianon's progress in Targa Tasmania via their Twitter updates. We'll also be adding more news, photos and videos to the site as they become available, so please check back regularly. |
