“The next few days will be full-on as we cover the event’s 2000 kilometre at least three times.,” Brendo said. “However we feel that to be properly prepared, we can leave no stone unturned, even if it means driving the same roads numerous times.” “Rhianon and I have developed a really good pace note system that works well for us both, so it will really just be a matter of refining our notes from last year’s event on the stages that are to be repeated this year.” The brother and sister pairing finished the 2009 event on top of the podium in the 2WD Showroom Class and hope to take it one step further this year and compete for outright Showroom honours against the 4WDs. “We’ll need fine weather to really have a chance against some of the 4WD cars,” Brendo commented, “but we’ll give it our best shot. Anything is possible!” “The Mazda3 MPS is a really fun car to drive and I am really looking forward to the next few days of recce and then to the event itself in just four weeks time.” Targa Tasmania starts in Launceston on April 27. |
