Rhianon takes next step on road to recovery

{mosimage}After almost three weeks in hospital, Rhianon is now at home – another positive step on her road to a full recovery.

Despite being wheelchair bound whilst her broken legs heal, Rhianon is keeping a positive mindset and is determined to be back on her feet soon.  Her first goal is to get some strength back in her legs and be able to put weight on them, and she will start a rehabilitation program soon.

Whilst her co-driving career has been put on hold for the time being, Rhianon aims to be back in the car beside Emma Gilmour at the final round of this year’s Asia Pacific Rally Championship, the China Rally, in mid-November.

Rhianon has been overwhelmed by the support she has received since the accident at Rally South Australia that hospitalised both she and brother Brendan.  The many hospital visits, phone calls, messages of support and gifts have been really appreciated by both Rhianon and her husband, Tim.

“It’s a long road to recovery, but being home where I feel comfortable makes the process seem so much easier. Tim, friends and family, have been so supportive of me and I would like to thank everyone for the cards, emails, flowers etc that I have received. It has been overwhelming. For now I just have to rest up while my bones mend and then I can start the rehabilitation process soon”.
