Brendo moves up to second at Targa Tasmania |
Day four of Targa Tasmania was another excellent day for Brendo and Rhianon, and a measured drive from Brendo has seen the Mazda pair move up a place to second in the Showroom class.
Starting the day on a wet weather set-up, Brendo was disappointed to find the roads in the Hellyer Gorge area were dry. With lots of trees shading the roads, it is always difficult to predict road conditions in the gorge and wet weather tyres slowed the Mazda3 MPS down considerably. Nevertheless, with dry weather tyres on for the last stage of the day, Brendo set a blistering time , giving him plenty of confidence going into the final day of competition.

Brendo maintains momentum at Targa Tasmania |
Brendo and Rhianon have had another excellent day at Targa Tasmania, maintaining their third place in the Showroom Class and finishing the day in 12th place outright.
The Mazda3 MPS has performed brilliantly to date, and the nimble 2WD is proving a real threat to the 4WD cars ahead of it. Brendo set another fastest stage time today (Showroom class) and is enjoying driving the Tasmanian roads.

Comfortable day at Targa for Brendo |
Brendo and Rhianon have completed day two of competition in Targa Tasmania, holding third place comfortably in the Showroom Class at day's end.
Today's weather conditions were much improved on yesterday's, with dry conditions for the majority of the day. Brendo took a cautious start this morning, based on yesterday's wet weather, but with the promise of clear skies and more grip from his 2WD Mazda3 MPS, he pushed harder after lunch and his speed increased dramatically.

Tricky conditions no problem for Brendo at Targa Tasmania |
Brendo and Rhianon have had a challenging but enjoyable day at Targa Tasmania. Whilst rain and strong winds made life difficult for all competitors, the pair finished the first full day's rallying in third place in the Showroom class and 13th overall.
"The Mazda3 MPS handled the conditions really well," Brendo said. "It was a very challenging day and being a two wheel drive, we always knew we would be up against it. The 4WDs definitely have more grip in the wet but we were stoked to see our times at the end of the day. To be 13th outright is awesome."
